    No worries with our

    School Gardens

A fantastic learning-by-doing activity, school gardens are really outdoor laboratories where topics like nutrition, science, and math all become far less abstract than they are inside. Studies show that children who garden are more likely to eat fruits and vegetables. As one associate with Denver Urban Gardens says, “”I think it’s just that it seems less foreign when you’re a part of the growing process,” and a parent says, “It totally changed my kids’ perceptions of where food comes from.”

Here are just a few organizations that build school gardens:
    REAL School Gardens
    Denver Urban Gardens
    Collective School Garden Network
    Grow to Learn NYC

Lesson plans, resources, and grant information are available from:
Chicago Botanic Garden’s School Garden Wizard
    National Gardening Association
